Qualcomm announces Snapdragon S4 Processor

Qualcomm Inc recently announced their first ever processor with 28nm architecture to enable more capability in mobile computing devices. This chipset is already included in some of the most popular handsets like Samsung Galaxy Note and HTC One X.
The S4 processor features the Krait CPU based on the ARM Cortex A9 architecture with 2 cores running at a clock speed of 1.5GHz. Krait is 20-35 percent faster than Cortex A9 for better multimedia, web and other graphic experience.  For less power consumption Krait uses three individual clocks for Cache and two cores hence consumes less power than its competitors.
For better and smoother experience with games and User interface S4 processor has become 39-61 percent faster than the previous generation with a record 71fps rendering capability. S4 also supports wide range of multimedia formats including Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD and Multichannel virtualization support. It also enables world’s first 1080p flash support in a browser.
For better graphic performance S4 includes Adreno 225 Graphics or Adreno 305, which will enable more realistic 3d graphic effects through better hardware acceleration.  Qualcomm also appreciates developers to build customised 3D or AI contents.  The SDK and every help related to development and news are available on developer.qualcomm.com.
The S4 processor powered devices like HTC ONE XL are expected to come to market in the latter half of May. Currently, there are more than 340 Snapdragon-based devices commercially available and more than 400 in development.
